LMT Academy presents new programme

A recent survey by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce confirmed that ongoing training plays an important role for the vast majority of businesses in Germany. It also discovered that 25% of businesses even want to expand their involvement in ongoing training while a total of 68% aim to maintain their current level of commitment. The central focus is always on improving what are known as occupation-specific skills. This subject is particularly important when it comes to the effective and economic utilization of precision tools. That is why the LMT Group is offering technology seminars in 2011 that not only aim to communicate technical knowledge about tools, but also offer instruction on their safe and efficient handling by experts. The new seminar programme is now available.

LMT Akademie

Altogether, during the coming year the LMT Academy will be offering 94 seminars, including 20 for customers. “In addition to existing customers, we would also like to invite potential new customers and students at technological universities,” emphasizes the head of the LMT Academy, Professor Dr. Diethard Thomas, who can be very pleased with the work accomplished over the last year: “We have been able to present impressive results,” explains Thomas. “Over 770 customers and LMT employees took part in a total of 62 seminars. More than half the participants came from our customers.”

Directly address practical problems

The content of the one- to two-day seminars in German or English will continue to be organized by work area: gear hobbing, rolling systems, milling, threading, clamping, product training, sectoral topics such as mould and die making, and modern production technology are just some examples of the subjects covered. One key area within the seminar programme will focus on problems that occur in practical production. They can be directly discussed and – if possible – solved jointly in the seminar. Additional practical ideas will be offered in customer-specific seminars where the LMT Academy develops specialized content jointly with customers. The seminars themselves are held either on the spot at the customer’s plant or in one of the LMT companies.

Viewing seminars live on the Web

The LMT Academy will also be broadcasting events live on the Internet for the first time. Customers and employees around the globe will be able to follow training courses and seminars on various platforms:
for example, on http://lmt.e-convention.net/.
