Workshop in Istanbul: Turkish customers find out about new tools
Turkey’s medium-term demand for machine tools will be high – at least, that’s the assessmentof Germany Trade & Invest (GTI). “Across the country, countless new machining operations are being set up that will also need machine tools,” concludes the GTI in an industry report.
Above all, the Turkish automotive industry hopes to be able to maintain its good world market position with a new and more powerful generation of machinery. The fact that they will also need a new generation of tools was recently made very clear by a workshop LMT Kieninger organized on the subject of innovative machining processes in die and mould making. The event was held at DMG/Mori Seiki premises in Istanbul, where representatives of LMT Kieninger and LMT alliance partner Böhler Sert Maden demonstrated various high-performance tools for rough machining and finishing.
Demonstrating how to boost performance
“We have already carried out similar workshops in Italy, Portugal, China and France,” said Martin Augstein, member of the global technical support team for die and mould making at LMT Kieninger and the person responsible for organizing the workshop. “This framework repeatedly enables us to demonstrate how customers in the machining field can accomplish real performance increases. Of course, achieving the right interaction between machine and tool is crucial here and that is precisely what we demonstrate in an exemplary way,” explains Augstein.
